Amirali Azimi is an MD graduate of Tehran University of Medical Sciences with a research focus on image-guided neurosurgery and brain tumor care. Within the NousNav project, he contributed to the transition from early hardware prototyping to systematic validation, including benchtop and phantom-based accuracy testing. His work has primarily focused on scaling NousNav hardware from a prototype to a reproducible, low-cost platform, alongside iterative design improvements to enhance accuracy and reduce error. He has also supported validation in cadaveric skull base laboratory settings and participated in operating room comparisons with commercial neuronavigation systems. His current work focuses on integrating intraoperative ultrasound with NousNav to develop a low-cost, portable imaging solution for cranial surgery, aimed at improving access in resource-limited settings.
